Promoted to CIO for Division that delivers $700M in annualized revenues providing film and digital media services, manufacturing, and distribution for entertainment customers worldwide.  Responsible for IT Strategy and Operations.  Provided leadership and mentoring for total team of 40.  Responsible for the planning and administration of annual capital budget of $5M and operating budget for $12M.

 

Selected Highlights:

  • Strategy & Management.  Authored and directed execution of IT Strategic Plan to support Division objectives across 5 P&Ls and 3 continents.  Managed Operating Budget at 1.7% of revenue and achieved 4% savings on budget each year. 
  • Technology & Business Process.  Introduced first company use of a Services Oriented Architecture supporting dramatic improvement in receivables, business systems integrations, and reduction of capital projects through re-use of existing software and services.

Commander, Air Defense PATRIOT Missile Battery                                                  06/1998 – 08/2000

 

Ultimate responsibility for the leadership and training of an 85-soldier Patriot Missile Firing Battery with mission to deploy worldwide to conduct combat operations.  Leadership demanded development of junior leaders, the direct care of soldiers and their families, the preparation for combat in adverse conditions, and precision in all aspects of military missions and assignments. 

 

Selected Highlights:

·         Operations.  Planned & led deployment of 110-soldier unit to Kuwait for 5-month mission in combat zone; led construction of new Patriot missile base. Mission successful, no casualties.

·         Logistics.  Planned & led relocation of 85-soldier unit within Germany following base closures.  Project physically relocated all soldiers and families including 50,000+ equipment items valued at $84M.  Unit re-assumed operational status 60 days ahead of Department of Defense schedule.

·         Received highest ratings on every officer performance review.  Rated #1 of 18 Commanders.

·         Held various other leadership positions and was rated #1 officer in unit on numerous evaluations.
