Coordinator, Women’s Health Resource Center (1998 - present)

Manage the day-to-day operations of The Women’s Health Resource Center, a library, information and education center. Initiate, plan and facilitate health education programs in a variety of venues. Administer and reconcile the operating budget, including purchasing. Continually evaluate customer/patient needs and find efficient and resourceful ways to establish customer satisfaction. Maintain a working relationship with other hospital departments. Promote health education and understanding through display window presentations. Make organizational decisions in prioritizing operational and patient issues. Take initiative to direct and provide linkage to appropriate settings within and outside of the hospital setting. Coordinate and train volunteer and restricted duty associates. Operate the Women’s Speaker’s Bureau for the hospital. Selected accomplishments include:


Organized and facilitated Womenfest for five years, including all lectures, exhibits and food for over 400 participants.

Identified and implemented, with the data warehouse team, a Return-on-Investment report showing the contribution the Center has made to hospital finances.

Initiated and collaborated to get the Library catalog published on the hospital Intranet, having the distinction of being the first library in the system to accomplish this distinction.

Provided leadership in establishing a memorial for a very valued deceased associate.

Advocate Charitable Foundation

Administrative Assistant/Office Manager (1997 - 1998)

Provided administrative leadership to plan, coordinate and operate the office. Scheduled and arranged meetings for the president, and other executives with outside donors, prospects and interviewees. Organized and prepared Board meetings and Board books. Arranged staff meetings and retreats, including all the details for the event. Participated in Gala events and assisted in planning and promotion. Selected accomplishments include:


Coordinated the entire office move from one location to another over a six month period. There were 25 offices, board, supply, computer rooms and kitchen.

Developed an office manual for consistency of operations.

Created an inventory system for supplies/printed materials to save revenue and increase efficiency.

Secured bids and managed contracts for event materials and services. Maintained the budget and requested funds from the College Trustees for several of these events. Served in a key role in the 30th Anniversary Black Tie Affair attended by 600 people in a transformed union center.

Provided leadership for Funfest, a 4 day fund-raising event with entertainment, exhibitors, vendors, a carnival, beer and food for 120,000 people and a budget of $250,000.

Spearheaded Future Focus, a college recruiting fair attracting over 900 people to view information from 300 colleges from around the country.
