- I was a non-commissioned officer in the United States Army. As a petroleum specialist and a NCO, I supervised a squad perform testing and transfer of all petroleum products.
- As a NCO I supervised a squad of thirteen personnel in physical training and training needed to be successful as petroleum specialized squad.
- I was appointed the battalion hazmat NCO. In this role I was tasked with the training, and qualification of all soldiers in the battalion, totaling approximately 400 soldiers, and observation of all movement of hazardous materials needed for deployment in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Fabricator and Shop Manager
1/1999 – 3/2002 Lakeside Building Materials, Eufaula, AL.
- I worked as a sheet metal roof panel fabricator and flashing designer. After working in the shop for approximately one year I was promoted to shop manager.
- As shop manager I insured that all orders were fabricated, loaded, and shipped in the time allotted. I also made sure that all materials needed to complete orders were in stock, and anything not in stock, I ordered at the lowest possible cost to save the company money.
Transportation Specialist
6/1998 – 5/2002 United States Army National Guard, Clayton, AL.
- I went to basic training and transportation training in FT. Leonard Wood, Missouri after graduating high school. As a transportation specialist I was trained in proper loading procedures and securing all loads from heavy equipment to hazardous materials.
- I was also trained in the proper use of transportation equipment ranging from Hummers up to forty feet tractor and trailers.
- I was instructed in government transportation regulations and policies. I reached the rank of E-4 specialist before I decided to go to active duty army.
