Performing client services with over 30 medical clients and ensuring that proper insurance information is provided to clients for accurate filing of claims. Performing third party collections for various doctors and hospital facilities throughout the Southeastern United States; serve as interface between clients and collections: perform analysis of collection activities. Responsible for corporate accounts payable for 2 corporations.

2006 – 2007 Revenue Field Auditor

Warren Maze, Inc.

Schedule and conduct Sales & Use Tax audits as a contractor for ALATAX representing over 200 municipalities throughout the State of Alabama.


 

2005 - 2006 Senior Accountant

SPM, Inc.

Responsible for overall accounting functions for 74 individual entities,

including general ledger, insurance, accounts payable, budgeting and

interfacing with outside auditors.


 

2001 – 2005 Revenue Field Auditor II,

North Carolina Department of Revenue

Scheduled and performed tax audits on Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee

taxpayers doing business in North Carolina. Taxes audited were Corporate

(C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnerships and LLC’s), Franchise, Sales & Use, White

Goods, Lease Tax and Withholding. Assisted with training new auditors in

methods utilized in performing audits, completing audit reports and reviewing

findings with taxpayers.


 

1999 – 2001 Director of Human Resources

Pemco Aeroplex, Inc.

Directly responsible for the daily activities of four departments: Human

Resources, Training, Safety (Safety, Medical, and Fire), and Security.

1998 – 1999 Manager of Internal Audit and Risk Assessment,

Pemco Aeroplex, Inc.

Responsibilities included coordinating, conducting, and reviewing of Internal

Audits. These audits were a combination of financial reviews as well as

operational audits. Conducted in-briefings and out-briefings within all levels

of management. Performed risk assessments, interfaced with insurance carriers

and brokers, provided RFP’s and secured quotes and placement of coverage.

1992 – 1998 District Sales Manager,

AFLAC, Inc.

Responsible for recruiting and training new associates, developed and

implemented marketing strategies, i.e. lead generating system through use of

letters and telemarketing and the subsequent tracking of the system.

Contracting of insurance companies and brokers to market AFLAC’s products

to their existing client base. Marketed and sold AFLAC’s products and services.

Responsible for corporate accounts receivable, credit and collections, daily

cash management, line of credit, corporate business insurance and taxes:

corporate income, franchise, property, sales and use.


 

1978 – 1983 Accounting Supervisor

Jim Walter Resources, Inc.

Responsible for general accounting and accounts payable departments. Duties

included producing general ledger and financial statements, supervision of

monthly journals, insurance analysis, preparation of annual and long range

plans and audit of prepaid and accrual accounts.

Responsible for costing of unannounced products, analysis and preparation of

plant performance package, business case analysis and budget preparation.
