Moving in to a brand new city, I was an inside sales person that was not happy just waiting for customers to walk in. I built my own clientel to add to my walk in showroom customers, which also grew through word of mouth as I always want my custmoers happy. During my off time I was out putting out flyers, knocking on doors and stopping by jobsites. During work hours, I was telephone marketing to builders, decorators,contractors, ect.
This is where I began in the carpet business. Starting off working in the warehouse and eventually getting into sales in 1996. I started working on straight comission and have never worked a salary only job again.
