Ashley McBroom

During my time in the USARNG I was deployed to Iraq. My jobs consisted of Detainee Operations where I assisted in running prison blocks. We conducted Care, Custody, and Control of our prison. I worked in Force Protection and Quick Response Force for the Base. In a summary, We guarded the base to ensure the safety and well being of all those on the base as well as a hasty response to all dangers on the base. I helped run an Iraqi Correctional Officer Academy. I was an instructor for this portion. Training the ICO how to perform there duties properly in the Iraqi Prisons.

• I got promoted from Private First Class to Specialist. I received a few medals: Global War on Terrorism, Army Defense and, a Good Conduct medal.

My basic duties of a guard are to keep the building as well as persons safe and secure. I worked as private security for the VIP's that came through. I maintained security logs and complete several checks throughout the day of the interiors and exteriors of the building.

I worked as a road MP as well as a deployed MP during my time. As a road MP my basic duties were the same as a Police Officer. As a deployed MP, I mainly worked with Iraqi Police, I helped to train them to do their jobs more proficiently. I helped run several recruitment drives for the Iraqi Police working with the BATS system. I also was a gunner for many convoy operations, searching for IED's and wanted persons in our areas.

• I was promoted three times. From nothing to Private to Private Second Class to Private First Class. I also received a Combat Action Badge. Completed the Law Enforcement Officer course.
